Vocational Rehabilitation Technician

The Vocational Rehabilitation Technician is a para-professional position providing administrative support and/or technical assistance to a Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) unit and its customers. This position provides casework assistance, coordinates customer services, and monitors customer reimbursement activities in compliance with Federal and State requirements.

Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor

The VR Counselor is professional counseling work, providing vocational rehabilitation services to eligible individuals to maximize independence and employability; assessing customer needs, and designing and implementing a rehabilitation plan that may include personal and vocational training, and job placement.

Senior Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor

The Senior VR Counselor is independent professional counseling work, providing vocational rehabilitation services to eligible individuals to maximize independence and employability; assessing customer needs, and designing and implementing a rehabilitation plan that may include personal and vocational training, and job placement. The Senior VR Counselor also provides technical assistance to vocational rehabilitation counselors.

Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant

The VR Consultant is independent professional counseling work, providing vocational rehabilitation services to eligible disabled individuals to maximize independence and employability; assessing customer needs, and designing and implementing a rehabilitation plan that may include personal and vocational training and job placement. The VR Consultant also provides consultation and technical assistance to vocational rehabilitation counseling staff and external stakeholders, and developing/coordinating special projects.

Vocational Rehabilitation Supervisor-SES

The VR Supervisor-SES is advanced-level professional work supervising Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors, performing a variety of complex tasks under limited supervision where general policies may not have been previously established and standard methods may not be available. The job requires an extensive knowledge of counseling techniques and practices. The primary duties of this position are to spend the majority of time planning and directing counselors’ work; communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating employees; and having the authority to recommend hiring, transfers, suspensions, promotions and disciplinary actions.
