Florida Rehabilitation Council
Helping Employ Florida
The Florida Rehabilitation Council (FRC) welcomes you to our website. The council’s primary purpose is to be a strategic partner with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (VR). Council members offer guidance and advocacy intended to improve vocational rehabilitation services; we often vote as a council to forward recommendations for VR consideration on important or emerging issues.
Florida Rehabilitation Council Chair
Dear Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) customers, stakeholders, employers and interested parties;
Currently there is a wealth of legislation in both the Florida Senate and Florida House that may impact individuals with disabilities as well as may impact Vocational Rehabilitation services (i.e., Florida House bill HB1153; Senate bill SB0802). Council members have advocated for effective and efficient best practices – see FRC documents for the items shared with our state legislators. The Council encourages everyone to become informed, provide feedback and advocate for the best outcome for individuals with disabilities in Florida to find and keep jobs of their choice. Please contact your Senator or Representative and let them know what you think.
You may also provide feedback to the Florida Rehabilitation Council (FRC). The FRC will hold our next public forum on May 19, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 9300 Baymeadows Road, Jacksonville, Florida. You may speak to FRC and VR representatives in person, via conference line or submit questions or concerns through FRCcustomers@vr.fldoe.org.
