Committee Role
The Public Awareness Committee conducts the public relation activities for the FRC Council. Included among the array of responsibilities you will find: advising staff on development of educational materials, overseeing public relations, and creating the FRC Year End Annual Report. This report is submitted to the Commissioner of the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA), Secretary of the United States Department of Education (U.S.D.O.E)., Governor of the State of Florida, Speaker of the House, President of the Senate, Senators and Representatives, Commissioner of Education, and the Florida Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability (OPPAGA).

Recruitment of qualified new members in the designated categories, including targeting the underrepresented categories, is a priority of this committee.

We Need You

The committee is also charged with developing a yearly slate of nominees to run as council officers and with overseeing the election process.

Members of the Public Awareness Committee have been tasked with exploring the benefits of expanding its website opportunities as a recruiting tool for new members. A link to the Governor’s Appointment Office will enable interested parties to obtain the application form. This website will also be used to share the good news about DVR services.

This year the committee will partner with DVR to discover how FRC can help achieve educational initiatives for business groups and other populations to make them aware of the benefits of hiring DVR customers.
